The Galaxy

The universe is vast and consists of multiple galaxies, solar systems, and planets.

Coordinates

Every planet is identified by its coordinates: [Galaxy:System:Planet] (e.g. 1:15:3). Understanding coordinates is crucial for planning your trade routes and fleet attacks.

Asteroid Belts & Mining

Position 16 in every solar system is reserved for the vast Asteroid Belt. These belts hold immense resources, but you must send a specialized mining fleet to extract them. You can set your fleet to mine for up to 24 hours to maximize your resource yield, but deep-space mining comes with extreme risks.

• ■ Safe Window: Mining for 1 hour or less is generally safe and undisturbed.
• ■ Pirate Ambushes: If you mine longer than the safe window, the chance of a Pirate Ambush increases exponentially every hour. If your fleet is unescorted (lacking combat ships), Pirates will obliterate it and steal the gathered resources.
• ■ The Catastrophe: Mining for more than 4 hours risks waking up the heavy Pirate factions. The "Catastrophe Threat" can spawn a fleet up to 4x stronger than standard pirates!
• ■ Hidden Artifacts: If your fleet survives the mining operation without being chased away, there is a distinct chance they dig up a priceless Artifact from the rubble.
